At Cygnet Wooden Boats we a just a little bit excited about the prospect of the Restricted 21ft Racing Yacht TASSIE TOO returning to Tasmania. When it comes to bringing home the yachting silverware for Tasmania TASSIE TOO and her Tassie Crew were the ducks guts. Restricted 21’s developed originally in Melbourne about 1909 from there working cousins the Victorian Couta Boats. ( We like Couta Boats!! Imagine a Couta Boat on steroids.) Restricted 21's raced for the FORSTER CUP from 1922, Australia's first inclusive interstate yachting championship. A triumph of Tasmanian design and boatbuilding, TASSIE TOO brought the coveted FORSTER CUP back to Tasmania no less than 10 times. T2 the only Tasmanian Restricted 21 still in existence was sold into Victoria over 60 years ago and now a group of enthusiastic volunteers, with your help want to bring TASSIE TOO back home. Not just as a static display T2 would be again be sailing on the Derwent and displayed at the wonderful Australian Wooden Boat Festival for all to see. I’m sure in the future we could convince T2 to visit here for the Cygnet Regatta. Visit the page, help if you can? or even just help Spread the word. Many Thanks CWB. http://ift.tt/2uLB0Vb http://ift.tt/2uaGYMa

What to do when you need to pull 7 tons of wooden boat from the water then shift it 2km to the boat yard?? You get Dan to build a little 14 wheel trailer then go fetch a boat 🙄

Maj is off to her new home in Melbourne so back on the trailer with bowsprit removed and her mast ready to come down. Farewell Majeure, safe travels and we look forward to seeing her out sailing with her bigger sisters on Port Philip Bay.
