UIRA Update No 15. For all those that were worried that we'd forgotten the darling of the shed, fear not! 😊 After lots and lots of sanding we reached a huge milestone this week with the first of many layers of paint to be applied to the interior of the hull. Matt did the honours of applying the first lick of paint. In what we hope will be a window into UIRA'S past, we have clear finished parts of her main and foward cabin to show her beautiful New Zealand Kauri diagonal construction complete with the scars obtained over 124 years of her existence. Enjoy!

A visit to the shed would not be complete without checking in on James and Simone's fantastic rebuild of the Huon Pine Motor Launch HALCYON. Soon relaunched under a new name, HALCYON is looking very complete with just the interior fit-out to be completed for her scheduled relaunching next year.

Continuing our catch up tour around the shed, one can not walk past the 1921 Ned Jack designed and built fishing boat REBECCA. REBECCA is one curvy craft and a credit to Ned's work as a boat builder and designer. Jeremy is leading a team of budding boatbuilders from the Cygnet community in breathing new life into REBECCA'S nearly 100 year old Huon Pine hull.

After a long absence from the shed it's good to be back amongst the hussel and bussel of CWB. Amongst the many spring projects is a new laid teak foredeck for the beautiful Charles Lucas built M.V NYORA. Also a new cabin and butterfly hatch for the fishing boat GEORGES BAY and a very curvy hard dodger for S.V WINDSANG.
